Virtual Reality Survey in Connecticut High Schools
Virtual Reality (VR) technologies provide an innovative and immersive approach to education.
However, challenges such as high equipment costs, lack of teacher training, and difficulties integrating VR into curricula hinder widespread adoption. Recent legislation has mandated the review of VR use in schools.
With support from Center for Connecticut Education Research Collaboration (CCERC) and the Connecticut State Department of Education, and in collaboration with Steven Stemler, PhD, at Wesleyan University, we are surveying 180 public high schools across the state to assess VR use and gather educator perceptions.
This Fall, we will conduct in-depth interviews with selected schools to gather insights from both teachers and students. We aim to provide a comprehensive perspective on the use of VR in Connecticut high schools, with a final report to be submitted to the Connecticut State Department of Education by January 2025.
