The Arborist is an interactive mixed reality installation that turns your body’s signals into living digital art. Using real-time physiological data—like heart rate, skin conductance, and temperature—participants grow unique, dynamic flowers in a shared virtual ecosystem. Each blossom reflects your emotional state, with colour, size, and motion shaped by your inner rhythms.
As more users contribute, their creations form a luminous Tree of Shared Breath, brought to life with fluttering hummingbirds and a heart-synced ambient soundscape. Built with Meta Quest 3 and Shimmer3 sensors, The Arborist transforms physiological signals into playful, poetic connections between people and their environment.
By preserving privacy through data abstraction and inviting calm, collaborative exploration, The Arborist reimagines biometrics as a medium for wellbeing, creativity, and collective presence.
