Sean O’Connor
Clinical Fellow at Yale School of Medicine
Sean O'Connor is a clinical fellow in pediatric hematology and oncology at the Yale School of Medicine. Throughout residency and early fellowship, his primary research focus has been working with trainees to identify creative solutions to improve gaps in learning. He has developed a curriculum for medical students on their pediatric clerkship aimed at maximizing the educational impact of time spent overnight on inpatient pediatric wards, and has collaborated with critical care colleagues to co-author a paper about a novel simulation curriculum that gamified the teaching of resuscitation skills through an escape room framework. In partnership with Foretell Studios and XRP, he is currently developing an artificial intelligence powered virtual-reality based platform to help trainees learn how to conduct conversations about serious illness.
